⭐ Membership Overview

Ultimate Karate welcomes new and returning students to join us as lifetime members. Membership is paid once and includes access to club events, formal gradings (when eligible), a PDF syllabus, exclusive online‑store discounts, and student Karate insurance provided by NAKMAS until 30 September.
As stated in the document: “Student Karate Insurance… will be valid from now until 30th September.”

Membership is more than training — it’s joining a supportive community focused on discipline, progress, and personal achievement.

Class Fee

Payment of Training fee is requested prior to each session.

Following any FREE TRIAL the following fee will apply to all students and members. 

• Standard Class: £6.00 per hour
• Extended Class: £7.50 per hour

⭐ Membership Options

Ultimate Karate offers four flexible lifetime membership packages:

Club Membership Package

Everything in the Silver Package, plus a brand‑new pair of sparring gloves (worth £18.99) ~ ideal for regular club training, partner drills, and competition work. This upgrade gives students added protection, confidence, and readiness as they progress through their Karate journey.

Included:

• A brand‑new Karate Gi in your chosen colour: white, black, red, blue, or mixed
• A FREE white belt to mark the beginning of your Karate journey
• Lifetime membership with our school
• A FREE embroidered club badge
• Initial Student Karate Insurance provided by N.A.K.M.A.S. (valid until 30th September)

Insurance

Insurance is required for all members training in our club.

• Annual cost: £30.00 (less than 58p per week)
• What it covers: Personal Accident cover in the unlikely event of an injury sustained whilst involved in karate or allied activities in the club.
  Dental cover is also provided within this policy.
• Why it’s required: We provide additional insurance to protect our members, it provides you with peace of mind that you/your child is fully protected for their Karate activities and it is a condition of membership to keep your insurance valid. Renewal is due by 30th September each year.

We recommend 4-6 weeks of training at one of our regular classes before you decide to join our club.

Parental consent will be required to apply for any membership scheme.

How to Pay

We aim to keep payments simple and flexible.

• BACS: Preferred payment method
• Cash: Accepted in some circumstances
• No direct debit: We do not operate direct debits

⭐ Health Screening

The health declaration is provided in a form prior to training with us. It is again requested on membership and allows applicants the opportunity to disclose any medical conditions and confirm they are fit to participate in martial arts training, including controlled sparring.
This declaration ensures we have clear, upfront confirmation of suitability before training begins.  
All medication remains the responsibility of the member or parent.  
The form also asks whether the applicant is medically fit to participate in martial arts training, providing an additional layer of clarity and safeguarding.

⭐ Membership Agreement

I acknowledge that Ultimate Karate is a disciplined martial arts organisation, and I
participate in all training and associated activities entirely at my own risk.
I understand that membership involves the practice of Karate, Self-Defence, and
related activities. I agree that I will not hold the Chief Instructor, the Instructor Team,
fellow Members, or other Students personally responsible for any injury or loss that I
may sustain while participating in such activities.

I agree to abide by all Club Rules and the Code of Conduct as directed by the
Instructor Team and I understand that failure to comply may result in my
membership being suspended or terminated without a refund at the discretion of
the Chief Instructor.

I acknowledge that membership is non-transferable, and that all fees paid to the
organisation are non-refundable and any credit arising from a missed session will be
carried forward to the next available session only, after which it will expire if unused.
I confirm that I have completed this Membership Form and Health Screening
accurately and to the best of my knowledge. I agree to inform the Chief Instructor
immediately of any changes to the information I have provided.

I give my consent to participate in all activities organised by Ultimate Karate, under
the supervision and direction of the Instructor Team. I agree to use any skills learned
during training solely for lawful purposes, including self-defence, the protection of
others, or the protection of property.

I also consent to the use of any recorded images of the member for the sole purpose
of club publicity and advertising, including on the club’s official Website, Facebook
and Instagram pages, at the discretion of the Chief Instructor.

I understand that I will NOT be permitted to participate in any activity in the club
without holding valid Karate Insurance (no exception).

Prepaid Sessions & Attendance

• Prepaid sessions:  Session payment is expected prior to each scheduled session. 
  
• 1-week carry-over rule:  Any credit arising from a missed session will be carried forward to the
  next available session only, after which it will expire if unused.
• Missed session policy:  Payment for a block of four sessions is taken on the basis that the student will attend four consecutive weekly sessions. One missed session within that block may be carried over, allowing a single additional session at no charge.  
  For example, if Weeks 1 and 2 are attended, Week 3 is missed, and Week 4 is attended, this permits Week 5 free of charge as the one allowed carry‑over. If the student does not attend Week 5, the credit is lost and cannot be moved forward again.

These policies help to keep things fair for all members and support venue planning.
